Clint Patrick Black, the youngest of Gwin Augusta and Ann Black’s four children was born on February 4, 1962, in Long Branch, New Jersey. The family relocated to Katy, Texas, not long after Clint was born, where he spent his formative years. Being surrounded by music from a young age helped Clint’s musical abilities to develop.

He had learned how to play the harmonica by the time he was 13 years old, and at the age of 14, in the year 1976, he wrote his first song. His exceptional voice was immediately recognized by his parents, and at the age of 15, in the year 1977, Clint was already a skilled guitarist.

He formed a small band with his elder brothers, Mark, Kevin, and Brian, and they performed for the neighbourhood at family barbecues in the garden. Clint Black eventually decided to drop out of high school to focus only on music, which marked the start of his solo career.

    Musical Journey

Early in the 1980s, Clint Black discovered a love for country music, which marked the beginning of his career in the music industry. He met guitarist Hayden Nicholas after playing in several Houston nightclubs, and the two went on to write hit songs together for many years.

Black made a breakthrough in 1989 when his debut album, “Killin’ Time,” was released. The record produced numerous number-one songs and was given a platinum certification.

He carried on putting out blockbuster albums like “Put Yourself in My Shoes” and “One Emotion,” winning praise and dominating the country music charts. Although Black and his manager had legal issues, Black continued to be popular and started successful tours.

He took a hiatus from music in 1999 to focus on his family but subsequently came back with the release of “Spend My Time” and started his own record company, Equity Music Group.

Black exhibited his unique vocal and compositional abilities throughout his career, fusing classic and modern sounds. His most recent album, “Out of Sane,” which was published in 2020 demonstrates his talent and enthusiasm.
