The means of popularity for country music is the source of radio. In the early 90s, two programs Grand Ole Opry by Nashville and National Barn Dance by Chicago were started on air. These programs were helpful to encourage new talent of that time.

Western music and old-time music were more heard by people at that time. Western music gained popularity when the cowboy movie Western was released. It was released in the 1930s after its release the singers of this music Roy Rogers and Gene Autry recognized as the biggest singing star instead of the hilly Billy music of the old times.

When country music was becoming popular, other new variations were added to it. Western swing a name of Western dance style music was introduced in the US, in which the band used amplified instruments to make it unique and loud. Other Western swing music artists were The Texas Playboy, Bob Wills, R&B, and Elvis Presley.

Honky Tonk a new style of country music was first introduced in in 1940s, the band used fiddle, bass and drum, guitar, with slow tunes because the songs represent grief and loneliness. Honky Tonk’s famous singers include Jean Shepard, Lefty Frizell, Ernest Tub, and Hank Williams.
