Guess what? Twisted Metal is coming back with a second season, and we’re beyond excited. The first season was filled with insane car battles, dark humor, and a dash of heart.
Peacock has officially greenlit season 2. And one thing is for sure: this time around, things are about to get even crazier.

Twisted Metal season 1 introduces viewers to John Doe, a quick-witted delivery driver. John has no recollection whatsoever of his past and is now navigating a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
In the first season, John Doe is tasked with transporting a mysterious package across the ruined landscape. John, during the journey, encounters numerous challenges.

The news of Twisted Metal season 2 has officially been confirmed by Peacock. The series is scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2025.
This decision of season 2 comes after the unexpected success of season 1. Season 1 debuted in 2023 and quickly became one of Peacock’s top original series.
Peacock has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season. The trailer begins with the introduction of the high-stakes Twisted Metal tournament, which is arranged by none other than the Calypso, played by Anthony Carrigan.
In the background, John Doe says, “I need to every driver that gets in my way,” hinting at the chaos revolving around season 2. The teaser ends with Calypso inviting the public to participate in the tournament.

The upcoming second season will be introducing Calypso, who’s the charismatic orchestrator of the deadly Twisted Metal tournament. Calypso has offered the contestants an irresistible offer: the ability to fulfill their deepest desires.
However, one can never trust Calypso. His promises are deceptive and often come with ironic consequences for the winners.

Anthony Carrigan is a powerhouse of talent. He’s renowned for his Emmy-nominated portrayal of NoHo Hank in HBO’s Barry and his role as Victor Zsasz in Gotham.
Carrigan’s diverse acting portfolio makes him the perfect fit for Calypso, adding depth and character to the role. His unique appearance has allowed him to play villainous roles perfectly.

The second season of Twisted Metal will see Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz reprising their roles as John Doe and Quiet. Their dynamic relationship is expected to face brand new challenges as they enter the Twisted Metal tournament.
The deadly completion is going to test their relationship in new ways. The development of their relationship is going to be at the center of the second season.

In the second season of Twisted Metal, we’ll see the series expanding its ensemble. Saylor Bell Curda is going to join the cast.
We’ll also see Michael James Shaw, best known for his portrayal of Mercer in The Walking Dead. Lisa Gilroy, a versatile actress who knows how to add new dimensions to a series, is also joining the cast.

The upcoming season is expected to intensify the narrative. The stakes are going to be increased, with the promise of something unreachable being made by Calypso.
The path to victory is full of dangers. The participants must also engage in lethal vehicular combat against new enemies and familiar foes.

The infamous character, Sweet Tooth, will return in the second season. The character is expected to come with an intensified chaotic energy, and fans can’t wait to see her once again.
Sweet Tooth is a central figure in the Twisted Metal universe. Sweet Tooth’s character is both menacing and comes with the perfect touch of dark humor.

In the upcoming season, the character Dollface is also going to make a significant impact on the storyline. Dollface is Joh Doe’s long-lost sister, and her introduction has added a layer of emotional depth to the series.
The character originates from the Twisted Metal video game franchise. Her backstory is nothing but traumatic, and she’ll also be participating in the deadly Twisted Metal tournament.

The production for season 2 has officially ended, marking a significant milestone for the series. The production commenced in mid-July 2024 and was wrapped up by November 2024.
The second season saw a shift in the filming location. The first season was filmed in New Orleans, while the second one was filmed in Toronto.

The showrunner of Twisted Metal, Michael Jonathan Smith, has expressed his desire to expand the series’s universe and explore the characters’ backstories in the second season.
In an interview with NBC, the showrunner teased a “really cool” direction for Dollface in the second season. Mr. Grimm’s arrival was also discussed.

Michael Jonathan is excited about the introduction of Mr. Grimm in the upcoming season. MJ, when talking about the character, said, ” He’s my favorite, and I’m excited to capture what the fans are excited about seeing, but also [answer the question of]: ‘How does he exist in the world we’ve set up?'”
He continued to add, “I think there’s just going to be a lot of fun with him — what kind of character he is in this world, and how does he interact with people like Sweet Tooth?”

The first season of Twisted Metal did better than expected and quickly became a hit. The series garnered 400 million viewing minutes during its opening weekend.
The balanced blend of dark humor, high-octane action, and character-driven storytelling made the series relatable for audiences. Twisted Metal isn’t the only series getting a second season.
