Kenny Chesney announces new album – The Big Revival

Kenny Chesney made the decision to take the summer of 2014 off from his massive stadium tours to make sure he got the music for his 15th studio album right. With “American Kids” hitting country radio with 117 stations on add date – and landing at #20 on Billboard and #24 on Mediabase after just two days of airplay – and topping iTunes Country Chart since the digital release, the Luttrell, Tennessean has come to play. Hard.

“The whole point of taking the time to get to a really creative place was to have the room to look at not what we’d done, but where we wanted to go,” Chesney says. “After all this time, if I can’t push myself and give the fans something that inspires them, that gets them pumped up, there’s no reason to just make a record to make a record.”

The most celebrated female in country music history, Dolly Parton, receives, yet, another accolade for RIAA gold, platinum, and multi-platinum career sales of more than 100 million albums worldwide.  While attending the historic Glastonbury Music Festival, Dolly took time to speak to journalists before hitting the Pyramid stage in front of a crowd exceeding 100,000 music loving fans.  During Dolly’s press event, BBC2 Radio’s Lauren Laverne introduced CTK Management CEO and Dolly Records President Danny Nozell and Glastonbury owner Michael Eavis who made the special plaque presentation which commemorated her sales of 100 million albums worldwide.

Rosanne Cash takes on Congress to defend the rights of artists

Rosanne Cash headed to Washington, D.C. yesterday, Wednesday, June 25, where she testified in front of the House Judiciary Committee about musicians and their rights and concerns in this digital music age. 

“I am honored to have been asked by the Americana Music Association to represent musicians, songwriters and recording artists in these hearings. As a singer/songwriter who has been in the music business for 35 years, I look forward to sharing with Washington leaders some of the deep concerns all musicians share in the new digital economy. Creative people deserve fair compensation when their work is used by others,” Cash said in an earlier release.

Enlisted is a freshman Fox comedy that hasn't been renewed for a second season. However, executive producers Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce aren't giving up on their baby just yet and are offering $3,000 to any fan who can get Taylor Swift to endorse their show on Twitter.

The Oak Ridge Boys Honored With 41 Million Album Sales Award During The Wendy Williams Show

The Oak Ridge Boys honored with plaque

The extensive collection of honors and awards keep rolling in for The Oak Ridge Boys.  An official RIAA commemorative plaque certifying Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum album and single sales has been awarded to the Grammy-winning group in celebration of more than 41 million album sales worldwide.  A special presentation took place in New York during the legendary group’s appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.
 
"We love Wendy Williams and she recently invited us to perform on her high energy, nationwide show.  While we were there she surprised us with a plaque recognizing 41 million sales of our albums," says Oak Ridge Boys lead singer Duane Allen.
