Despite The Sound of Music Live! being panned by much of the internet, critics included, it did get over 18 million viewers, so it shouldn't exactly come as a surprise that NBC would be thinking about doing it again.
And it turns out they are.

The Sound of Music Live! aired to mixed reviews on Thursday, but one thing's for sure … a heckuva lot of people were watching.
The numbers have been released and the three-hour television extravaganza scored an impressive 18.5 million viewers, meaning that NBC and any basic cable channel that can afford to pay for the rights to air it will more than likely shove the show down viewers' throats every year from now on.
