New Johnny Cash album to be released this spring

Well here's a bit of interesting and exciting news – 10 years after his death, a new album of never-before-heard music from Johnny Cash is set to be released.

According to the AP, back in the early '80s, Johnny recorded an album that for various reasons was shelved without ever being released. Not long afterwards, Cash was dropped by Columbia Records.

Luckily, Johnny and his wife, June Carter Cash, stashed the tapes and now fans will be able to hear the 30-plus-year-old recordings for the first time ever.

So LIFE magazine has released a special issue in honor of the Legendary Johnny Cash. This LIFE book is filled with rare and never-seen photographs of The Man in Black’s life. It’s 112 pages chalk-full of photographs of Cash’s personal and professional life. The special book also contains Reminiscences by Rosanne Cash (Johnny Cash’s Eldest daughter) and John Carter Cash (Johnny and June’s only child together). LIFE also includes a short, simple bio of Cash as well.
