Jo Dee Messina has never been freer than she is with her soon-to-be released Me. With the record set to be released next Tuesday (March 18), the red-headed singer opens up about her life throughout the 12 tracks, particularly on her current single "A Woman's Rant." Digging her heels deep into rock, she plans on making her mark, with the help and loyalty of her fans.

Me will be released on her own Dreambound Records and distributed by eOne Music. Having bucked the trend, Messina sought out help on the popular crowdfunding source, Kickstarter, to give her an upper hand in the next chapter of her musical career. "My 19-year-old cousin Alex Preston, who is, by the way, on ‘American Idol,' [recommended it],'" she tells NashvilleGab, exclusively, of the ultimate decision to go with Kickstarter.

Jo Dee Messina’s new album has a release date.

Jo Dee announced that her self titled fan titled album, Me, is slated for release March 18th, 2014. This is especially exciting for her fans since they funded it. Yup, you read that correctly. The fans put their hard earned dollar bills together thanks to the Kickstarter program and helped raise over the $100,000 needed for Jo Dee to finally have musical freedom.

Jo Dee Messina is in talks to join Dancing With The Stars

I don't think I've ever heard anyone come right out and say they're in talks to appear on Dancing With The Stars without being asked. Usually there's this whole veil of secrecy and the only way you get an inkling of who might be on the show is when a secret source spreads the news to TMZ or Perez Hilton. 

No veil of secrecy here. Jo Dee Messina decided honesty was the best policy and came right out and told fans that she's been to LA to talk with the Dancing With The Stars people.
