Clarkson opens Vegas show on July 12, 2025
The story begins on July 12, 2025, when Kelly Clarkson took the stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for night two of her Studio Sessions residency. She wore a Willie Nelson shirt with flared jeans and opened with her 2015 song “Dance with Me.”
After the song, she stopped to speak to the audience. She asked, “Are y’all sweating? I’m cold, but I’m like a Slip-N-Slide underneath.” She tugged her shirt and explained she had sticky pasties on for an outfit change planned later during the performance.

Still onstage, Clarkson warned the crowd, “You might all of a sudden see boobs here.” She pulled at her shirt and pointed to her waist while fans laughed and cheered loudly
She flipped her hair and said, “I feel like there’s so much hair, I mean, it’s all mine.” Then she mentioned, “I love that I’m probably embarrassing my kids.” Her two children, River and Remy, were in the audience and waved from their seats while fans responded with more cheers.

Clarkson keeps joking about the shirt slipping
After pointing out her kids, Clarkson kept joking and dancing while saying, “Oh, my God. It’s gonna happen.” Her team messaged her asking if she wanted to change her undergarments, but she laughed and said no.
She told the crowd she was distracted, saying, “I’m talking a lot, but it’s because I’m distracted that they’re starting to slip.” Then, without stopping, she launched into “Behind These Hazel Eyes.” Her encore came later, featuring a green low-cut jumpsuit that made the earlier comments clear.

Wardrobe trouble brings up memories
After finishing the show despite distractions, Clarkson recalled another onstage mishap on April 11, 2025, during her talk show. She told guests Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren about a past skirt accident.
She explained that a clip on her long skirt broke during a performance, and it dropped suddenly. She added, “Long story short, I was a commando.” She was singing “Breakaway” when it happened, and someone ran out mid-song to pin the skirt back together so the show could continue.

That same night, she stepped on glass
Clarkson added that the same night her skirt dropped, she also stepped on broken glass during the performance. She asked, “What’s wrong? Who did I piss off?” to describe how bad the night went
Despite both issues, Clarkson said she kept singing and never stopped the show. She ended the story by saying, “It happens, though, and you just have to keep swimming.” Jonas and Warren reacted with laughter while listening to the story live on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Nick Jonas joins in with his own story
After Clarkson finished telling her skirt and glass story, Nick Jonas shared his mishap from Broadway rehearsals for The Last Five Years. He said his pants split after jumping on a platform.
He said the pants were brand new and he hadn’t tested their stretch. Adrienne Warren said Jonas “really went for it” in that moment. Jonas said ticket sales spiked that day, making the accident memorable. He explained it all happened during early show promotion activities.

Pants tear led to urgent Target shorts
Following the pants rip, Jonas said he felt a breeze and knew it was bad. He tried duct tape and safety pins, but nothing worked to fix the tear in time.
Stage management rushed to Target and brought back black shorts so Jonas could finish rehearsal. He told Clarkson and Warren, “That was my day. How was yours?” The April 11, 2025, show continued with all three laughing about the mishaps they had each faced on stage.

Clarkson reveals more mishaps from May 10
Clarkson’s stories didn’t end there. She also had another mishap at her May 10, 2024, concert in Atlantic City at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. She wore a tight black jumpsuit after losing 60 pounds.
During the performance, her hair got caught in the zipper on the back of the jumpsuit. She walked to a backup singer for help. She explained she wanted to nod her head while rocking out, but couldn’t because her hair was stuck in the zipper.

Wardrobe issue led to forgotten lyrics
Still at the May 10 show, Clarkson also forgot lyrics to her 2023 song “Mine.” She told the crowd, “I’m not in this moment anymore. I have let go of these lyrics… like Elsa.”
She told the crowd, “We’re gonna do it again. I’m gonna do it right.” Before the concert began, Clarkson said she was in a weird mood. She told the audience she had been dancing backstage like Kristen Wiig from Saturday Night Live before coming onstage.

May mishaps followed weight-loss reveal
Just three days after the Atlantic City concert, Clarkson spoke about her weight loss during her May 13, 2024, talk show episode. She was interviewing Whoopi Goldberg, who also shared weight-loss details.
Goldberg said she used Mounjaro due to type 2 diabetes. Clarkson responded that she also lost weight, but took a different drug than people assumed. She said her bloodwork had gotten bad, and her doctor pushed her for two years before she finally agreed to use it.

Clarkson feared side effects from medication
Continuing the May 13 conversation, Clarkson said she was afraid to take any medication because of her thyroid condition. She said, “Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, but it’s not. It’s something else.”
She explained her doctor kept telling her she needed it, and after resisting for two years, she finally gave in. She confirmed she used it for health reasons. Clarkson did not mention the name of the drug but made it clear it was not for looks alone.

Past issues brought up again with Twain
This wasn’t the first time Clarkson spoke about clothing accidents. On February 2, 2023, she told Shania Twain during her talk show that a quick-change team forgot a step while dressing her.
Clarkson said they zipped her dress but missed another closure. She said she jumped a lot on that tour, and her dress almost fell off. She laughed and said she was a commando. She joked, “That would have gone real European beach real quick” during the story.

Twain followed with her own odd moment
After Clarkson told her dress story, Twain shared her biggest stage mishap. She said it wasn’t clothing-related. During one performance, her horse pooped onstage while she was riding it
Twain said the poop was big, steamy, and stinky. She explained that it didn’t bother her because she was used to the smell from being around horses. She turned to the audience and said, “S— happens.” Clarkson said she would have loved to be at that show.

The stories continued on April 10, 2021, when Clarkson told Clint Black about her worst backstage experience. She said she once pooped in a trash can during a show because of stomach trouble.
Clarkson said something she ate wrecked her stomach. She ran to the quick-change area, grabbed a trash can, and said, “I destroyed it.” She added, “It was bad. It was bad, Clint.” The crowd reacted with laughter as she explained the moment without leaving anything out.

Clarkson told Black the trash can story might have to be edited from the show. She laughed, but made it clear it happened. She said, “It happens. What are you supposed to do?
She shared the moment after Black mentioned that Sarah Evans once peed during a concert. Clarkson said hers was worse. She said the incident happened at an arena show and that she had no filter. She explained she didn’t hold back with her fans or her stories.
