She added, “Noah, Scott, and the team have so many more stories to tell. And we are thankful to our partners at Max for giving them the opportunity to do so.” 

Season 2 Production Plans

As of now, specific details about the production schedule have not been announced. According to the series creator, Scott Gemmill, the second season is going to feature a time jump in its storyline.

The production will be using real hospital settings to maintain the show’s commitment to the original narrative. The production team is looking forward to incorporating more local elements from Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh as the Setting

When asked about why Pittsburgh was chosen for The Pitt, the executive producer, Michael Hissrich, commented, “Pittsburgh’s just a great slice of America. [Producer] John Wells went to Carnegie Mellon, and [star] Noah Wyle’s parents both have Pittsburgh roots. 

He added, “I grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Carnegie Mellon. There are stories about just about anything in Pittsburgh.”

Creator and Production Team

The creator and showrunner for The Pitt is R. Scott Gemmill. Scott is known for his work on NCIS: Los Angeles and ER.

Executive producers include Noah Wyle, John Wells, Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan, and, of course, Michael Hissrich. John Wells Productions produces the series in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.
