Found did a great job of bringing a bold, emotional lens to the stories that are too often ignored. This gripping NBC drama followed Gabi Mosely and her unconventional team as they fought to bring the forgotten home.
The series was based on sharp storytelling, suspenseful twists, and deep emotional resonance. It struck a chord with viewers from its very first episode.

Found is a procedural crime drama that premiered on NBC on October 3, 2023. The series revolves around Shanola Hampton as Gabi Mosely, a former kidnapping victim turned crisis manager.
Gabi leads a team dedicated to locating missing persons, who are often ignored by law enforcement and the media. The show does a great job of blending elements of mystery and thriller.

Gabi’s team consists of individuals with personal experiences of abduction or loss. Gabi, along with her team, uses unconventional methods to locate these individuals.
Without the knowledge of her team, Gabi keeps her former abductor, Hugh “Sir” Evans, captive in her basement. She leverages his insights into criminal behavior to assist in solving cases.

The ensemble cast of Found does a great job of bringing depth and complexity to the series. On top of the list, we’ve got Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Hugh “Sir” Evans.
Kelli Williams plays the role of Margaret Reed. The cast also includes Brett Dalton as Detective Mark Trent, Gabrielle Walsh as Lacey Quinn (formerly Bella Parker), Arlen Escarpeta as Zeke Wallace, and Karan Oberoi as Dhan Rana.

Found season 1 introduced viewers to Gabi Mosely’s complex life as both a rescuer and a captor. The show explored the personal connections each team member had with the cases.
The first season ended with Gabi’s former abductor, Sir, escaping confinement. This set the stage for future conflicts and challenges for Gabi and her team.

Season 2 of Found premiered on October 3, 2024, expanding to 22 episodes. The second episode intensified the suspense from the previous season.
New characters introduced include Christian Evans, Sir’s brother, and a grief counselor. Moreover, Heather Tollin, portrayed by Danielle Savre, also emerges as a mysterious attorney entangled in the team’s operations.

Found’s debut season was strongly received by viewers. The premiere ended up attracting 10.5 million viewers across all platforms.
This made it NBC’s most successful series launch on Peacock to date. The second season also continued to perform well, with episodes averaging 6.2 million viewers and audiences loving each episode.

Found received a mix of praise and criticism from reviewers. When talking about the season, the consensus noted that the show was “anchored by a very watchable Shanola Hampton.”
However, they described the series to be an “uneasy marriage of procedural and serialized storytelling that’s slick enough to get lost in.” Variety described the series as “extremely binge-able.”

Shanola Hampton won Gracie Awards for Actress in a Leading Role – Drama for her portrayal of Gabi Mosely. Found also received nominations for NAACP Image Awards (2024) in the category of Outstanding Drama Series, and Nkechi Okoro Carroll was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Dramatic Series.
Shanola Hampton was also nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the Critics Choice Television Awards (2025). Mark-Paul Gosselaar was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

NBC announced the cancellation of Found after two seasons on May 9, 2025. The series finale is scheduled to air on May 15, 2025.
The cancellation was influenced by declining ratings and scheduling conflicts despite the series’ strong debut and critical acclaim. The scheduling problems occurred due to NBC’s extensive NBA coverage.

The cancellation decision was largely motivated due to NBC’s new 11-year broadcasting deal with the NBA and WNBA. The deal is set to commence in October 2025.
According to the agreement, the network has agreed to allocate significant primetime hours to basketball coverage. Due to this, NBC has to reduce its entertainment programming to accommodate the expanded sports schedule.

Found isn’t the only series that got canceled by NBC. Night Court, Lopez vs. Lopez, Suits LA, and The Irrational have also been cancelled.
These cancellations are part of NBC’s broader programming strategy. The network has renewed several other series for the upcoming season, including the full Chicago franchise (Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D.), Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and newer shows like The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds.

Fans took over various social media platforms to express their disappointment over the cancellation. The hashtag #SaveFound also trended for a short period.
Some fans are remaining optimistic, hoping that the series might find a new home on another network or streaming service. This isn’t uncommon, as Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Lucifer were also picked up by other platforms.
Both seasons of Found are available for streaming on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. New episodes of Season 2 aired on NBC on Thursdays at 10/9c.
These episodes are then made available to stream the next day on Peacock. Peacock features a wide range of NBC shows, movies, and exclusive content.

Found has left a lasting impact on its viewers. It has highlighted the societal neglect of missing persons cases involving people of color.
The series has also highlighted the “Missing White Woman Syndrome.” Even after its cancellation, Found continues to inspire conversation about representation. In other news, Netflix cancels fan-favorite shows amid ‘The Night Agent’ boom.

As of May 2025, there have been no official plans to revive Found. However, Warner Bros. Television, which co-produced the series, is actively looking for opportunities to continue the show.
Fans are also asking about why CBS canceled FBI: International & Most Wanted.
