    CMA Awards Celebrating Country Music’s Best

    The 2024 CMA Awards took place on Nov 20 and aired live on ABC at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. But these are not the most important details.

    Down below, we’ve got a list of all the winners from this star-studded evening. Keep reading and find out if your favorite star took an award home or not.

    Entertainer of the Year

    The competition was tough, but there could be only one winner. And who took the trophy home?

    Drum roll, pleaseMorgan Wallen. This nomination and win were much deserved, especially after a whole year of recognition, including record-breaking performances and sold-out tours.

    Other nominees included Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson.

    Single of the Year

    The nominees for this genre included Shaboozey for “A Bar Song (Tipsy), Cody Johnson for “Dirt Cheap,” “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone, “Watermelon Moonshine” by Lainey Wilson, and last but not least, “White Horse” by Chris Stapleton.

    The trophy went to the one and only Chris Stapleton. This track, a standout from his album “Higher,” is the perfect blend of soulful lyrics and a moving tune.

    Album of the Year

    Cody Johnson’s “Leather” was loved by everyone and won the award for Album of the Year. Produced by Trent Willman and engineered by Jack Clarke, the album was chosen amongst four other nominations.

    These included “Deeper Well” by Kacey Musgraves, “Father & Sons” by Luke Combs, and “Higher” by Chris Stapleton. Jelly Rolls’ “Whitsitt Chapel” also made it to the list.

    Song of the Year

    For the genre, Song of the Year, five equally talented artists were nominated. Amongst them were Parker McCollum’s “Burn it Down,” Cody Johnson’s “Dirt Cheap,” Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” and Cody Johnson’s “The Painter,” once again.

    But who took the trophy away? Chris Stapleton, for his song, “White Horse”. It seems like Chris Stapleton is on a winning roll, and we’re not complaining.

    Female Vocalist of the Year

    Lainey Wilson has been named Female Vocalist of the Year. Other nominees included Kelsea Ballerina, Ashley McBryde, Megan Moroney, and Kacey Musgraves.

    Even though the list was long, there could only be one winner, and that was the “Bell Bottom Country” singer. Wilson, with her mixed melodies and catchy tune, won the hearts of listeners.

    Male Vocalist of the Year

    Chris Stapleton is for sure on a winning streak because he also took away the award for Male Vocalist of the Year. Stapleton has been a dominant force in the country music industry.

    Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, and Morgan Wallen were among the nominees. This win of Stapletons will further solidify his place in the industry.

    Old Dominion at the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards

    Vocal Group of the Year

    Old Dominion has been recognized as the Vocal Group of the Year. The group has already been climbing the ladder of fame and it seems like they have no plans of stopping whatsoever.

    Old Dominion is known for its catchy hooks, smooth harmonies, and witty lyrics. The nominee list included Lady A, Little Big Town, The Red Clay Strays, and Zac Brown Band.

    Vocal Duo of the Year

    Brooks & Dunn won the Vocal Duo of the Year award at the 2024 CMA Awards. The group already has legendary status in the country music industry, and this win will only add to its success.

    Their ability to move with time and give classical tunes a modern hint has been loved by fans. This genre had other nominees, including Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay, Maddie & Tae, and The War And Treaty.

    Musical Event of the Year

    For the genre Musical Event of the Year, Ella Langley’s “You Look Like You Love Me” featuring Riley Green won the award. The song was a hit everywhere, especially on Instagram and TikTok.

    Zach Bryans’ “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, was also nominated, along with Morgan Wallen’s “Made Made A Bar,” featuring Eric Church. Kelsea Ballerina’s “Cowboys Cry Too,” featuring Noah Kahan, was also on the list.

    Musician of the Year

    The list of nominees included Tom Bukovac, Jenee Fleenor, Paul Franklin, Rob McNelley, and Charlie Worsham. Of course, Charlie received the award. His exceptional talent and powerful voice made him a deserving recipient of this honor.

    Over the years, Worsham has built an image of respect for his work, which spans a variety of genres, making him a diverse singer.

    Music Video of the Year

    “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” won the Music Video of the Year award. The video was directed by none other than Patrick Tracy and Lainey Wilson sang the iconic song.

    For all those who don’t know, Lainey Wilson is nothing but a vessel of talent, and her songs are a testament to this fact. The list of nominees included, “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson, “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone, “I’m Not Pretty” by Megan Moroney, and “The Painter” by Cody Johnson.

    New Artist of the Year

    The year 2024 was full of fresh and new talent, each uniquely better. However, there could only be one winner, Megan Moroney.

    This win will serve as a breakthrough in her career and expand the attention she gets from fans and those within the industry. Artists like Shaboozey, Nate Smith, Zach Top, and Mitchell Tenpenny were also included in the nomination list.

    Fan Reactions

    Chris Stapleton fans were beyond happy to see the artist being recognized for his hard work. However, Jelly Rolls’ fan base was a bit annoyed as the singer didn’t take home a single award.

    One fan commented, “Jelly Roll just isn’t there and it’s really annoying that he is the best and isn’t recognized for the talent that is shown in every single song that he sings”. Fans across social media praised Morgan Wallen for his Entertainer of the Year award.

    CMA Lifetime Achievement Award

    George Strait was honored with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 CMA Awards. “The King of Country” was accompanied by his immediate family, including his wife Norma and grandchildren.

    Upon accepting the award, he went on to say, “It’s been an amazing 53 years” highlighting his marriage with Norma and her unwavering support throughout.

    Who Were the Performers

    The performers at the 2024 CMA awards show included Wilson, Bryan, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, Megan Moroney, and Cody Johnson. Each one of them brought life to the event with their mesmerizing performances.

    Besides Cody Johnson, Thomas Rhett, Post Malone, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and Shaboozey also performed.
