Residents in Los Angeles are being urged to evacuate their homes in light of the massive wildfires that have spread throughout the region. Perhaps the largest is the Palisades fire, taking over lands in Santa Monica and Malibu.
Among the homes affected were those of several celebrities as well, who have taken to various social media platforms. Keep reading to find out about the celebrities who have been a victim of these wildfires.
Ben Affleck, actor and producer, was among many others who were forced to evacuate their homes as wildfires threatened his Los Angeles property. After evacuating from his residence, Ben sought refuge in his ex-wife’s home in Brentwood.
Affleck just recently bought this Cali mansion approximately five months before these deadly wildfires erupted. His luxurious home is located in the evacuation area. Fortunately, his home was left unscathed by the fire as returned to his home on Wednesday.
The This is Us star is devasted after seeing her home and neighborhood engulfed by the fires. She took to Instagram to share videos of her neighborhood getting blown up due to these fires.
The actress also uploaded an Instagram story saying, “Evacuated and safe with kids, dogs, and cats. Praying and grateful for the first responders.”
The Star Wars star was also forced to evacuate his Malibu residence as the wildfires neared his home. Hamill, along with his family, were compelled to leave behind their entire belongings at the last minute.
He shared an Instagram post saying, “Personal Fire Update: 7pm-Evacuated Malibu so last-minute there small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH. 8:15 pm- Marilou, Trixie & I arrive at Chelsea’s house in Hollywood. Most horrific fire since ’93. STAY SAFE.”
The Freaky Friday star and a reputable producer, Jamie Lee Curtis, has also faced distressing loss due to the Pacific Palisades wildfires. She shared a video of the destruction caused by the wildfires with the caption, “No Words.”
She also went on to express her gratitude for the service workers, saying, “It’s a terrifying situation, and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze.”
Paris Hilton faced the loss of her Malibu beachfront property due to the Palisades fire. She shared an extensive caption on Instagram, saying, “Heartbroken beyond words. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”
She went on to add, “Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”
The Schitts Creek star, Eugene Levy, who is also the honorary mayor of the Pacific Palisades, ended up evacuating the area. He confirmed on Wednesday that his home in Malibu has been completely destroyed.
He shared, “Sadly we did lose our home but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire. Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the fire fighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”
Actor and comedian Bill Crystal also lost their home of 46 years in the wildfires. Crystal and his wife Janice, in a joint statement, shared, “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing.”
He went on to add, “We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy. We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders.”
Westley from The Princess Bride also shared on social media that his family home in Malibu was destroyed by the raging fires. He went out to say, “Sadly, we did lose our home, but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire.”
Cary also expressed his gratitude for the firefighters, saying, “We also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders, and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”
Television personality and host Ricki Lake also lost his home to the wildfires. The former talk show host shared on Instagram, “It’s all gone. I can’t believe I am typing these words.”
She continued to add, “It was our heaven on earth. The place where we planned to grow old together. Praying for all of my neighbors, my friends, my community, the animals, the firefighters, and first responders.”
James Wood couldn’t hold back from sharing his thoughts on the progressing wildfires. While mourning the loss of his beloved home, James went on to blame the authoritative body of California.
He described the feeling of losing his home, which he recently renovated, saying, “I couldn’t believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long. It feels like losing a loved one.”
Actor and writer, Steve Guttenberg used his platform to raise awareness about wildfires and protection against them. He said, “If anybody has a car, and they leave their car, leave the keys in the car so that we can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up Palisades Drive.”
Continuing with the precautions, he said, “People take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot.”
Comedian and actress Whitney Cumming shared on Instagram that she doesn’t want to live in California anymore. The disastrous nature of the wildfires heavily influenced this decision.
The actress posted a photo with her baby and captioned it, “LAFD and just all firefighters, thank you. Gonna be a wild couple of days. As I seriously consider moving out of California, I remember these heroes don’t think that way.”
The daughter of musician Travis Baker was forced to evacuate from her property along with her brother, Landon Baker. Both Alabama and Landon shared the harrowing experience on social media.
Alabama posted a story saying, “Just evacuated from my home due to wildfires in Los Angeles, please be safe!! They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds.”
Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden shared a video of the fire taking over his backyard. He captioned the post with, “Behind my house! The worst EVER in LA.”

Frozen star and comedian Josh Gad posted a picture of the flames climbing into the hills. In a state of distress, the actor wrote, “I have never seen flames from my house like this, ever,” he can be heard saying off-camera.
