Kristin Cavallari is finally letting her fans see a side of her life that’s been private for years: her relationship with her kids.
The former Laguna Beach star and mother of three recently shared that her children have been eager to be featured on her social media and in her projects for quite some time.
And now, she’s ready to let them take the stage.
Let’s take a look at how Kristin’s journey as a mom and public figure has evolved and why she’s finally giving her kids the green light to be seen.
Kristin Cavallari shares three children with her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler: Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9.
While speaking to People ahead of the release of her new E! docuseries, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, she opened up about how persistent her kids have been in wanting to be part of her public life.
“They have been asking me for years to post them. I guess it was maybe a year and a half ago that I finally posted Camden. He’s almost 13, Saylor is 9, and she’ll be 10 in the fall. It’s sort of the curse of being the second or the third kid. They just sort of naturally do what the oldest is doing. In my perfect world, would they all be 12 [before] deciding if they were posted? Sure. But also, it’s just not realistic,” she shared.
For a long time, Kristin made a deliberate choice to keep her children’s faces off the internet.
But as they’ve gotten older and more vocal about their wishes, she’s loosened the rules.
The kids are now not only showing up on her social media but also appearing on her podcast and upcoming reality series.
It wasn’t just about giving in to her kids’ requests. Kristin also admitted that hiding such a huge part of her life felt unnatural. As a mom, she’s deeply connected to her children, and not showing that side of herself felt like she was keeping something important hidden.
“It is nice for me to be able to show that with people because my kids are the biggest part of my life. They always have been since I became a mom,” she explained. “And I could only let people in so much without showing my kids, so to be able to now share that world with everybody? People [can] see at the end of the day, I am just a normal mom. That is my life.”
This shift allows her audience to get a more authentic look at who she really is.
Between running her business, Uncommon James, and working on her podcast Let’s Be Honest, her everyday life revolves around her kids, and now, she doesn’t have to hide that.
Despite her fame, Kristin insists her life is not as glamorous as people might assume. Most days, she’s just like any other mom, juggling school events and sports practices.
“I’m going to basketball practice and games like every other parent. I’m at school. I was on a field trip last Friday. I am doing all the normal mom things,” she said. “And I think it’s probably good for people to see because I think people’s idea of me is very different than who I actually am.”
It’s clear that Kristin is making an effort to show her followers the real version of her life, not just the polished bits. Including her children in her content helps paint a more accurate picture.

Kristin’s new docuseries, Honestly Cavallari, marks a big change from her previous reality show, Very Cavallari. One of the biggest differences? Her kids are now involved.
Looking back, she admits that not having them on Very Cavallari made the show feel less authentic.
“That was the one thing with Very Cavallarii, my kids are the biggest part of my life. And them not being on Very Cavallari really did a disservice to myself,” she said on a recent episode of her podcast. “If I can’t show the biggest part of my life, well, now we’re having to fill in all of these areas that would normally be my kids, and we’re having to force storylines. And we’re having to basically make s— up. And I really regret that, to be honest, because it wasn’t an accurate representation of what was going on.”
Now, with her new show, she feels more comfortable being fully herself, kids and all.
Kristin’s kids made their podcast debut on Let’s Be Honest just ahead of the premiere of their reality series. During the episode, they opened up about their experience filming the show.
“Some of it was boring and then some of it was fun,” said Saylor. When Kristin asked what was boring, Saylor answered, “Just when we’d talk.”
Camden chimed in with a joke, “It’s not like we talk like a family ever.”
Later, Kristin asked what their favorite part of filming was. Camden said, “Them putting the mic on you and then you’d be like, ‘Check check,’ and then they’d look at you and be like,” while giving a thumbs-up gesture.
They all agreed that the filming experience was more relaxed than expected. “I don’t think any of it was really scripted except the last part,” Camden said. “She told us some questions to ask you.”
While Kristin is embracing her kids’ presence on screen, she’s also encouraging their personal interests. Each of her children is exploring their passions in unique ways.
“Camden, my oldest, definitely wants to be an athlete. He also has a window washing business currently that he’s very excited about. It actually kills me how cute it is,” she said.
Jaxon, following in his big brother’s footsteps, is launching a trash can cleaning business. He’s also into cooking and dreams of becoming a private chef. Meanwhile, Saylor is eyeing Mom’s business empire. “Saylor definitely wants to take over Uncommon James. So we’ll see!”
Kristin Cavallari’s world may be public, but she’s making sure it’s real, especially now that her kids are part of the picture.
Honestly, Cavallari: The Headline Tour premieres on June 4, and fans will get a front-row seat to her life as a businesswoman, mom, and now, a full-time family woman on camera.
