Well folks, it’s happened. Florida Georgia Line have
surpassed the record for number of consecutive weeks spent at #1 on Hot Country
Songs with ‘Cruise’. They are the all-time record holders (Jason
Scott, one of our writers, had a rant about this today). In addition, ‘Cruise’
is #1 on Country Digital Songs, and their album ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ is
still #1 on Top Country Albums. Their
latest single, ‘Round Here’ is at #6 on Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs,
and #12 on Country Airplay, while ‘Get Your Shine On’ remains popular at #20 on
Country Digital Songs and #22 on Hot Country Songs. Basically, in a short space
of time, they’ve taken over the genre.

Since her run on "American Idol"s seventh installment, Kristy Lee Cook has been attempting to break through that ever-present female barrier. After releasing "15 Minutes of Shame," the lead off single from 2008's "Why Wait" record, she was soon dropped by Arista Nashville in December of that same year. Kristy resurfaced in 2010 when she signed to Broken Bow Records — label home to Jason Aldean and Dustin Lynch. Last year, Kristy released the beautiful "Airborne Ranger Infantry," a song inspired by poems written by her father, Larry Cook, during his time in the Vietnam War. Despite not gaining traction at radio, she continued to refine her songwriting and is now back with a brand new single.
Partnering up with labelmate Randy Houser (he's signed to Broken Bows' Stoney Creek division), the two tackle a syrupy sweet ballad "Wherever Love Goes," off Randy's latest "How Country Feels" album.
The Band Perry are the stars of this week’s chart roundup,
as they can add another radio #1 to the list with ‘DONE.’. Elsewhere they’re
not managing to break the monopoly on the top 10, however, falling one place to
#11 on Hot Country Songs and all the way to #21 on Country Digital Songs. ‘Pioneer’
rises 4 places to #7 on Top Country Albums. Florida Georgia Line naturally head
this aforementioned monopoly with ‘Cruise’, breaking record after record with their
run at #1 across Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs that continues
this week, with their album ‘Here’s To The Good Times’, also holding out at the
top. Their newest single ‘Round Here’ is at #12 on Country Airplay, #7 on Hot
Country Songs and Country Digital Songs, and their previous single ‘Get Your
Shine On’ is still performing, now at
#20 on Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs.
As if it were a surprise to anyone, the force that is
Florida Georgia Line remains at #1 on Hot Country Songs yet again this week
with ‘Cruise’(remix featuring Nelly). In addition, it remains at #1 on Country
Digital Songs too, while their latest single ‘Round Here’ is at #6 on the same
chart, #16 on Country Airplay and #8 on Hot Country Songs. Their album ‘Here’s
To The Good Times’ stays at #1. Could it become a possibility that they end up
holding both the #1 and #2 spots on the sales charts? Quite easily, in a couple
of weeks’ time.
Blake Shelton also stands in the running for the soundtrack
of the summer, ‘Boys Round Here’ (featuring Pistol Annies and friends) at #2 on
Country Digital Songs, but falling to #4 on Hot Country Songs, while his latest
single ‘Mine Would Be You’ not yet charting on Country Airplay top 25. In
contrast, Hunter Hayes is still rising with ‘I Want Crazy’, taking the #2 spot on
Hot Country Songs this week while he holds onto #3 on Country Digital Songs. He
stays at #6 on Country Airplay, and #4 on Top Country Albums with the ‘Encore’
edition of his self-titled debut album, which still lags behind Blake Shelton’s
‘Based On A True Story…’, standing strong at #2.
I think most country fans are looking for the charts to get
more interesting now as most of them have come to a standstill this week.
Florida Georgia Line are still at #1 (does it even need to be said?) with their
‘Cruise’ remix on Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs, and ‘Here’s To
The Good Times’ remains at #1 on Top Country Albums. Meanwhile, their new
single ‘Round Here’ is climbing up in the wake of its predecessor’s success, at
#7 on Country Digital Songs, #19 on Country Airplay and #13 on Hot Country
Songs. It seems likely that before long it too will reach #1.
With the release of Hunter Hayes’ ‘Encore’ edition of his
self-titled debut album (the deluxe edition in laymen’s terms), has rocketed
the country pop singer back to the top of Top Country Albums, while the lead
single off the record, ‘I Want Crazy’ is now at #3 on Hot Country Songs and
Country Digital Songs. If that wasn’t enough, it’s now also at #7 on Country
Airplay. Leading that chart is Jake Owen with ‘Anywhere With You’, which is
down to #8 on Hot Country Songs and #22 on Country Digital Songs.
#1 on Country Digital Songs is Florida Georgia Line, with ‘Cruise’
(featuring Nelly), that is also #1 on Hot Country Songs for yet another week. ‘Here’s
To the Good Times’ is at #2 on Top Country Albums. This duo seem unstoppable,
even by Blake Shelton, who remains at #2 on both charts this week with ‘Boys
Round Here’ (featuring Pistol Annies). The song has dropped down to #4 on
Country Airplay, however, after being last week’s #1. His album, ‘Based On A
True Story…’, also stays at #3 this week. Darius Rucker’s ‘Wagon Wheel’ is
holding out too, down to #4 on Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs
while ‘True Believers’ is at #4 on Top Country Albums.
