We all know that Hollywood is no stranger to chaos. But what happens when Seth Rogen takes the reins of a film studio?
Things are bound to get more chaotic. The Studio, an upcoming Apple TV+ comedy, is exactly about this and so much more, with a promise of a hilarious yet biting take on the workings of the entertainment industry.
The Studio revolves around Matt Remick, who’s the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. Continental Studios was a prestigious film studio in the old days, but it is now facing the challenges of modern Hollywood.

Matt Remick is a fervent cinephile whose lifelong dream has been to own and lead a major film studio. However, upon taking over this role, he ends up facing the harsh realities of the modern entertainment industry.
Matt is tasked with balancing artistic aspirations against commercial demands. Profit-driven corporate executives and the unpredictable nature of filmmaking raise challenges for Matt Remick.
Catherine O’Hara will play Amy’s character in The Studio. Amy is the seasoned predecessor to Matt Remick at Continental Studios.
Amy’s tenure as head of the studio was marked by her ability to navigate Hollywood’s changing landscape, along with achieving a reasonable balance between artistic vision and commercial viability. Her departure has paved the way for Matt, but her influence lingers.
Played by Kathryn Hahn, Maya is a significant figure at Continental Studios. Maya is a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of the film industry’s ins and outs.
Her experience makes her an invaluable asset to the studio. Maya’s dynamic with Matt Remick will add depth to the narrative, highlighting the complexities of leadership and collaboration.
In The Studio, Ike Barinholtz will play the character Sal Seperstein. Sal plays a crucial role in the internal dynamics of the studio.
He’ll be seen working closely with Matt Remick and Quinn Hackett. His character will also help highlight the challenges and intricacies of managing a modern movie studio.
Chase Sui Wonders will play Quinn Hackett’s character. Quinn begins her journey as Matt Remick’s assistant at Continental Studios.
Quinn comes with exceptional talent and dedication, allowing her to climb the corporate ladder quickly. She ends up becoming an integral part of the Continental Studios operations.
Bryan Cranston is set to make a notable guest appearance in The Studio. He’ll be playing the character of Griffin Mill.
Griffin Mill is an industry insider who interacts and collaborates with Matt Remick and his team. Cranston’s involvement will, without a doubt, increase The Studio’s allure, offering viewers a compelling performance.
The Studio is full of an impressive lineup of celebrity cameos. Notable appearances include Martin Scorsese, who will be playing an exaggerated version of himself.
Charlize Theron and Steve Buscemi will also be making an appearance. Zac Efron, Olivia Wilde, Anthony Mackie, and Zoe Kravitz are also expected to add their contemporary flair to the series.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are all set to give their sharp satirical spin to Hollywood. The series, which offers a comedic glimpse into the inner workings of a film studio, reflects on the co-creator’s personal experiences in the entertainment industry.
Rogen and Goldberg have previously collaborated on acclaimed projects like Superbad, Pineapple Express, and This Is The End. Rogen not only co-writes but also stars as Matt Remick in The Studio.
A talented team of writers and directors have come together to produce The Studio. We’ve got Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory as co-creators and writers for the series.
