Gabbing with Levi Hummon

We recently caught up with rising country star, Levi Hummon. Get to know more about him below!

NG: You just released a new single, “State I’m In.” What made you pick the song as a single?

LH: Honestly, it just stood out every night on the road. A good test for songs was trying them out on tour and watching how fans reacted. This song is also super personal to me, and I knew it was important to get it out to everyone.

NG: We know you’ve hit the road with Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and Lady A this year. What do you most look forward to when playing shows with acts of that caliber?

LH: Man o’ man, I’m just honored to even have these opportunities. Those are three of my all time favorite artists and just as a fan, it’s so exciting to get to perform with them. I’ve learned so much from each of them about putting on the best show possible.

NG: You recently announced your first-ever headlining tour. What can fans expect from your live show?

LH: I can’t wait! For my live shows, you can expect me giving my 100% best – whether it’s an empty bar, a stadium in front of Keith Urban, or my own headlining show. I believe everyone deserves the same set! I do feed off the crowd though, so I always love making people dance and sing along.

NG: Do you have a favorite song to cover?

LH: I love performing Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” but also a big fan of Maroon 5’s, “This Love.”

NG: When can we expect more new music from you?

LH: This year for sure. We are constantly in the studio and churning out new material. What’s most important to me is meeting fans on the road, connecting with them and making sure when I leave they have something to hold onto. Both something they can play in their car and a memory.

NG: What’s an item on your career bucket list?

LH: Right now, I want to keep touring to the point where I can headline stadiums… haha, big dreams. But, it’s the truth.

NG: As a songwriter, what’s one song by another artist you wish you had written?

LH: Hmmm. Today, it’s “Humble And Kind.”

NG: What does the rest of 2019 hold for you?

LH: We’re about to hit the road for the Drop of Us Tour! We’re kicking it off next week in Oxford, OH, home of Miami University. Be sure to come see us live! Along with touring, I can’t wait to continue releasing new music and stay busy writing songs.
