This is so tragic.

A tour bus carrying the road crew for Josh Turner crashed Wednesday night in California, killing one person and injuring seven others.

“Josh Turner and his road family have suffered a devastating loss,” the singer’s rep told People on Thursday. “Please keep the crew, band and Josh in your thoughts and prayers”

According to multiple reports, the Long Black Train singer had performed at the Vina Robles Amphitheater in Paso Robles, California and was on a different bus than the one that ended up crashing. About 20 minutes from the amphitheater, the bus carrying the crew left the highway and went down an 80-foot embankment. There is an investigation underway but so far no cause of the accident has been revealed.

This morning, the San Luis Obispo Fire Department shared photos of the accident on Twitter.

Killed in the accident was Josh’s sound engineer, 64-year-old David Turner (no relation), who was thrown from the bus when it crashed. David had worked for Josh for 14 years and before that had worked with other country greats such as Patty Loveless and Tammy Wynette.

Josh has understandably canceled the remainder of his September shows.

My heart goes out to Josh Turner, his family, friends, crew, and everyone else touched by this tragedy.
