A week after the shooting in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, and a day after it was announced that promotion for the film had been stopped, it’s been revealed that the September 27 release date for The Hunt has been canceled. So far, no new release date has been announced.

The movie, which stars Hilary Swank, Emma Roberts, Betty Gilpin from Netflix’s Glow, and also featured Sturgill Simpson as a character named Kid Rock, had been criticized for the plot of the film, which was about rich people kidnapping poor people for the purpose of hunting them.

Yeah, I’d have to say that’s definitely not the best plot for a movie these days.

Since there hasn’t been a new release date announced for the movie, it kind of makes me wonder if they’ll just end up release it to streaming services instead of having it in theaters. Guess we’ll have to wait to know for sure.
