spencer-crandall-interview

We loved chatting with rising country star Spencer Crandall. Learn more about the future superstar below!

NG: You recently released your EP, More. What was the process for putting it together?
SC: I had written songs all of 2018, and I just wanted to release them! I loved them and I was sick of having them sit on my phone while fans asked for more music. I got the production right and then started putting out singles! It was super fun, and I hope to do something similar soon!

NG: Do you have a favorite song on the EP?
SC: My favorite song on the More album is a song called ‘Kept Every Vow.’ That song is my parent’s real life love story. They have been together for 33 years and have been through everything together. They inspire me to find that kind of love and ‘Kept Every Vow’ is my tribute to them!

NG: For those readers who aren’t familiar with you (yet!), how would you describe your sound and style?
SC: It’s country storytelling with Justin Timberlake, Jon Bellion, hip-hop, EDM, flavor! I pull from all my favorite influences and make country music that I like!

NG: You’ve played shows with the likes of Dustin Lynch, Chris Lane, Josh Tuner, Big & Rich, etc – What do you learn from guys like that?
SC: Those guys all are incredible entertainers; they definitely know how to command the crowd’s attention!
Also, I think they all have such great songs. Great songs are always a mark of a next level act, and it inspires me in the writing room.

NG: Do you have a favorite on-stage memory thus far?
SC: Probably the first time I ever got to play a show in my hometown as a headliner! It was so cool seeing the people I love like friends and family, mixed in with true fans who came see me play. I was over the moon! One of my favorite memories.

NG: If you could tour with anyone, who would you pick?
SC: Probably Sam Hunt or Thomas Rhett! I love how they write songs, and I love how they push the boundaries of our genre.

NG: Do you have a favorite song that you’ve ever written?
SC: ‘Kept Every Vow’ – because it’s so personal and special to both my family and myself.

NG: What’s your biggest goal as an artist?
SC: I want to play a football stadium – specifically, the one in Denver! (Known as Mile High Stadium)

NG: Where can fans keep up with you?
SC: All social media platforms! Just search my name – Spencer Crandall 🙂

NG: What do you have planned for the rest of 2019?
