Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris released the highly anticipated new song Way Too Pretty for Prison last night at midnight and, you know what? I can’t think of a better way to start a Monday than by listening to the pair sing about ways to off a significant other! Can you?
“Antifreeze and Gatorade. Arsenic in his lemonade. Takes just one snip to bleed his brakes. But we ain’t gonna do it (She ain’t gonna do it)”
Yikes! Don’t cross this pair. LOL.
Miranda explained in a press release how Way Too Pretty for Prison came to be.
“Karen Fairchild and I were having a wine night to talk about The Bandwagon Tour, and I always tell my friends, ‘Don’t leave if you’ve been drinking, because you’re way too pretty for prison,’ ” said Lambert. “She got a ride home at the end of the night, and the next day I had a write with The Love Junkies (Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, Liz Rose). I was telling them about our night, and that conversation, and they said, ‘Well that’s what we’re writing today.’ I’m so glad Maren joined me on singing this song. She sang her ass off and it was so fun to have her in the studio.”
Way Too Pretty for Prison is the fifth song Miranda’s released from her upcoming album, Wildcard, so far. She’s previously released It All Comes Out in the Wash, Locomotive, Mess with My Head, and Bluebird. Wildcard comes out November 1.
