Kacey Musgraves and Margo Price are just two of the nearly 140 musicians who have thrown their support in for Planned Parenthood’s new “Bans Off My Body” campaign to take a stand against the newest wave of states trying to ban legal abortion.

Musgraves, Price, and other artists including Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Portugal. The Man, and Billie Eilish were featured in a full-page Billboard ad over the weekend in the campaign’s musical arm called “Band Together, Bans Off.”

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about restrictive anti-abortion laws passed in the last year. They are also hoping to gather at least 500,000 signatures on an online petition in time for the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade in January.

Something tells me they will far surpass their goal of 500,000 signatures.

From Bans Off My Body:

Our bodies are our own — if they are not, we cannot be truly free or equal. Across the country, some politicians are trying to make decisions about our bodies for us. We won’t let the abortion bans sweeping the country put our lives and futures at risk, and we won’t be silenced while our fundamental right to control our bodies is taken away.

Being that musicians are taking part in the effort, Planned Parenthood also plans to visit music festivals to get the word out.

So far it doesn’t look like Kacey Musgraves has posted anything about the initiative, but Margo Price put her two cents in yesterday.

If you’d like to sign the petition, you can text BANSOFF to 22422 or head over to bansoffmybody.org.
