Did I miss the meeting about making Dive Bar the country music word of the summer?

So was there a musical meeting at some point where everyone decided this was going to be the summer of the dive bar? Seriously, I feel like I missed some memo or something that was passed out back around June that said this summer was going to be about all about Dive Bar songs and Dive Bar tours.

Of course, it all started with the release of Garth Brooks’ and Blake Shelton’s song Dive Bar back in June.

Then Garth announced his  run of Dive Bar shows he’d be squeezing in between his regular world tour. These Dive Bar shows are sponsored by Seagram’s 7 Crown.

And then in July, Kip Moore announced he was going to be heading out on his own six-stop Dive Bar Tour sponsored by Bud Light. He just wrapped that mini-tour up last week with his show in Madison, Wisconsin.

But wait! There’s more!

At the end of July, Home Free announced their own Dive Bar Tour, this time it’s a 17-city Christmas tour.

Oh, and Home Free’s new album is called Dive Bar Saints, which you can pre-order here.

Dive Bar Christmas Tour dates:

NOVEMBER
30 | Nederland, TX – Nederland Performing Arts Center

DECEMBER

1 | Shreveport, LA – The Strand Theatre
4 | Atlanta, GA – Atlanta Symphony Hall
5 | Birmingham, AL – Concert Hall at BJCC
6 | Tifton, GA – John Hunt Auditorium
7 | Spartanburg, SC – Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium
8 | Raleigh, NC – Meymandi Concert Hall
11 | Knoxville, TN – Tennessee Theatre
12 | Wabash, IN – Honeywell Center
13 | Troy, OH – Hobart Arena
14 | Akron, OH – Akron Civic Theatre
15 | Detroit, MI – Masonic Cathedral Theatre
18 | Salina, KS – Tony’s Pizza Events Center
19 | Omaha, NE – Orpheum Theater
20 | Fargo, ND – Scheels Arena
21 | Brookings, SD – Swiftel Center
22 | Mankato, MN – Mankato Civic Center

You’d think we’d be done with the dive bar for a while but, nope, there is one more dive bar in town.

Johnny Gates, who you might recognize from Team Gwen on Season 12 of “The Voice,” is releasing a new self-titled EP that comes out tomorrow.

And guess what? Yep, he has a song called Dive Bar.

Like I said, I think I missed the Dive Bar Committee meeting at some point. Just makes me wonder if anyone else will be able to squeeze a dive bar-related reference in before summer ends next month.
