It is the time of the powerful woman. As more and more women lean into their power, passion and purpose, it is nice to highlight some of the incredible achievements that have recently been made. Hollywood is an obvious industry but instead of actresses, this blog highlights businesswomen. Here is a list of 3 powerhouse females in Hollywood who are transforming the industry.

1. Heather Parry

After getting her start at MTV, Heather Parry went on to lead the production team at Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. After seeing multiple success with films like Pixels, The Longest Yard, and Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Parry made a sudden and quiet move to launch Live Nation Productions. Parry has been a trailblazer in the musically-driven film genre, which perhaps stems from her MTV roots. Most recently, she was Executive Producer for the box office smash A Star Is Born.

2. Euzhan Palcy

Born in Martinique, Euzhan Palcy is a writer, director, and producer. She is the first black female director to be produced by a major Hollywood studio (MGM) and the only woman (black, white, or otherwise) to have directed actor Marlon Brando. She defied the apartheid rules in Africa during her travel for her film A Dry White Season and grew close to Nelson Mandela as a result of the project. Palcy balances her time between her film projects and her humanitarian work.

3. Sherry Lansing

Sherry Lansing is the founder and CEO of a nonprofit focusing on cancer research and public education in California. Before that, her impressive resume included being the president of 20th Century Fox and the CEO of Paramount Pictures. She worked in the industry for 30 years, produced over 200 movies, and earned a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

There are so many women who have made significant impacts to Hollywood and to the world around them. The women covered here demonstrate that professional success can be achieved, glass ceilings can be broken and that meaningful impact can be accomplished. May this serve as an encouragement to dream big and be brave.
