Maddie Marlow of hit country duo Maddie & Tae announced today via social media that she and her longtime beau, Jonah Font, are engaged! According to Marlow’s interview with PEOPLE, the proposal happened in May and came with the most perfect ring.
Marlow shared with PEOPLE that the ring contains a part of her mom’s original engagement ring, serving as an heirloom for her that she hopes to one day pass down to children of her own.
While the ring was special, the simple fact of becoming engaged to Font, who she calls her best friend, was the most important thing to Marlow. The two met when she was a sophomore in high school back in Texas and have been together all of their adult lives. Being in a relationship for so many years has allowed them the opportunity to truly get to know each other, understand a life together, and figure out that each completes the other.
