After weeks of speculation, Luke Bryan has finally confirmed that he’s headed to the American Idol reboot as a judge!

Standing in a sunny hay field in Kansas, the singer cheerfully announced in a video posted to social media on Friday that he’s excited and proud to be one of the three new judges for the Idol reboot and will be joining previously revealed judge Katy Perry and his personal hero Lionel Richie.

“Can’t wait to see you guys, can’t wait to be a part of the show and I’m so excited to see all the talent out there that America has,” he says in the video.

Luke Bryan is the second country star to take to the judges’ panel. Keith Urban was, of course, a judge on the show at the end of the show’s first incarnation at Fox, which ended back in 2016 after a successful 15-season run. No premiere date for the reboot has been announced but the show’s last open audition will take place October 11 in San Antonio, Texas.

So who’s excited for some Luke Bryan on American Idol?
