Carrie Underwood Makes Shocking Record Label Switch

Nashville is all abuzz today, thanks to a little shift in Carrie Underwood’s career.

The country music superstar has announced her parting of ways with Arista Nashville (Sony) and her signing with Capitol Records Nashville (Universal Music Group Nashville). Underwood’s five studio albums have all been released under Sony, but the reigning Female Artist of the Year felt it was time to make a move and see what another team has to offer her.

“It’s so inspiring to me as an artist to feel this excited about the future,” said Underwood. “The incredible team at UMG shares the heart and passion I have for music as well as the drive, and their innovative spirit has shown that together the possibilities are endless.”

We can’t wait to see what’s next for Underwood as she hits the ground running with a new, passionate team behind her!

Unless she wants to go POP don’t know what else Sony could have done. Got her on radio roll, promoted her endlessly. My girlfriends say interesting that Faith Hill comes to Sony and Carrie bolts. ? Sony is female heavy w/ Miranda, Cam, Maren so maybe she wanted to go where the guys are Luke, Dierks, Keith, etc.
