Dolly Parton’s My People Fund Makes First Distribution

With her fund continuing to grow, now reaching $9.3 million, Dolly Parton made her first distribution to the families of Sevier County to help alleviate financial stress related to the devastating Gatlinburg fires. In its initial efforts, the My People Fund was able to deliver payments to 884 affected families.

Parton said in a press release:

It’s a blessing during this holiday season that we are able to help as many families as we have so far. We know there are more families out there who need our help and we encourage them to be in contact with us before our January distribution.

The Dollywood Foundation My People Fund is set to provide $1,000 per month to families in Sevier County who lost their homes in the wildfires. The next distribution is January 26 and 27, 2017 at the LeConte Events Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
