Just in case you’ve been living under a rock somewhere, tonight is the CMA Awards. And while it’s usually the women who dazzle in their fancy dresses and layers of jewels, tonight it will be co-host Brad Paisley who will be dripping in diamonds.
According to a new press release, Brad, who is co-hosting with Carrie Underwood, and his actress wife KimberlyWilliams-Paisley have been chosen to wear $28 million worth the Johnathon Arndt baubles.
According to the report, Kimberly will be sporting most of the jewelry, which will include a pendant with a “one of a kind internally flawless yellow diamond” which weighs over 20 carat on its own and then is anchored in a setting with an additional 15 carats of brilliant white diamonds. Then there’s matching diamond stud earrings and diamond ring.
If you’re wondering where Brad comes into all of this, the pendant that his wife will wear on the red carpet, which features the massive “Heart of the South” flawless yellow diamond, will later be transferred to his guitar strap for a very special (and expensive) performance.
So if you see a huge guy looking ready to pounce anyone getting close to Brad during the performance, you’ll know it’s not Brad he’s protecting, it’ll be the diamond.
Tonight’s CMA Awards air on ABC and start at 8 p.m. ET.
