Randy Travis sings at Country Music Hall of Fame induction

This is so amazing!

Three years after losing his voice and nearly his life after suffering a stroke and undergoing brain surgery, Randy Travis has once again found his song.

On Sunday, the singer was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame (with Garth brooks doing the honors). To celebrate the momentous occasion, Travis surprised the crowd by stepping up to the podium — with the support of his wife Mary Davis-Travis — and leading the audience in a touching rendition of Amazing Grace.

While the words didn’t always come through clearly, Travis’ voice still carried the tune and his distinctive baritone was just as wonderful as it was back in his younger, healthier days.

Here’s a second, longer video of Travis’ emotional performance.

Such an amazing story to start out the work week.

The night, however, didn’t only belong to Randy. Fellow North Carolina natives Charlie Daniels and Fred Foster were also inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Congrats to everyone!
