Hurricane Matthew forces three country concert cancellations this week

Hurricane Matthew hasn’t even hit the U.S. mainland yet, but it’s already left a path of destruction in the country concert world.

Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, and Jake Owen have all decided to put safety first and have called off concerts this week.

Jake Owen was scheduled to perform this weekend at the Beach Town Music Festival in Vero Beach, Florida, but the festival was postponed after a state of emergency was declared for all of Florida by the governor.  Fans are encouraged to not give up on the festival as organizers plan to reschedule it.

On Tuesday, both Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks had announced that they, too, were canceling shows this week. Luke Bryan’s dumped show was unfortunately the very first stop on his eighth annual Farm Tour in Gaston, South Carolina. With evacuation orders in place for surrounding areas, travel routes are going to be snarled and the powers-that-be thought better of letting the show go on. Ticket holders will be given full refunds.

Garth Brooks sent out a press release to announce that he was rescheduling his Thursday show in Orlando, Florida.

Due to weather concerns the Garth Brooks concert scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, 7:30 PM at Amway Center in Orlando has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 9th at 3:00 PM. All tickets for the Thursday, October 6th, 7:30 PM show will be good for Sunday, October 9th at 3:00 PM.

The previously scheduled shows have not changed, they are:
Friday, October 7th 7:00 PM
Saturday, October 8th 7:00 PM
Sunday, October 9th 7:30 PM
