After years of holding out, Garth Brooks finally announced yesterday that he’s teaming up with Amazon Music to stream his music to the masses online.
It’s pretty cool news, although it would probably have been a lot bigger news had Garth decided to partner with Spotify. Seriously, who in the world uses Amazon Music?
Anyhoo, you may be wondering why Garth, arguably one of the biggest names in music who still refused to join the current decade and stream his tunes online, picked Amazon to finally get down to the business of streaming.
Turns out his wife, Trisha Yearwood, much like the rest of the world, has a bit of an Amazon addiction and Garth’s just hoping to recoup a few of his losses from the company.
In a video posted to Yearwood’s Facebook yesterday, the singers explained the funny (and totally relatable) reason for partnering with Amazon.
“Do you want to tell them?” Garth asks Trisha in the video below.
“Well Amazon and I are just like this,” Yearwood says while crossing her fingers. “I know I order a lot of stuff every day.”
“You do,” Garth agrees with a laugh. “So we’re doing the streaming deal to get even, if you know what I mean.”
Too funny. Check out the cute video below. You can also read the full press release on next page to get all the down and dirty details of Garth’s streaming deal on the next page.
