Nashville singer-songwriter-musician Adam Wakefield took America by storm when he shared his talents on national television. Massively emerging at just the right time in country music, the traditional, pure, and soulful sounding singer won the hearts of those who were ready for a change in the genre and wanted to refocus energies on undeniable ability.

In an attempt to keep those hearts pounding to the beat of all things Wakefield, the brilliant artist released his music video for “When You’re Sober,” which features his vocals, a piano, and Jenny Leigh on harmonies. No bells, no whistles, just Wakefield in his natural element, surrounded by that which he holds important to him.

Wakefield exclusively shared with NashvilleGab:

We do this song with the full band in my regular set, so it was really cool to try something new with it…go back to the basics and really showcase the lyrics and Jenny’s harmonies.

He may call this rendition of “When You’re Sober” “really cool,” but we call it really necessary, really spectacular, and really everything missing from country music — until now. Watch Adam Wakefield’s video here:

Adam Wakefield is certainly an original and unique country artist. Beyond the success he got on national television and his new song release, what would be the next step in the career of this talented artist?
