Trace Adkins is turning into the hardest working country singer in Hollywood these days and now he has another new movie called Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story for fans to indulge in.
In the western, Trace plays the main character of the movie, Nathaniel Reed. He’s a former outlaw who has settled down and is trying to forget his past. But then the law comes looking for him. You can watch the trailer for the movie below.
According to America’s Morning Show, Stagecoach is based on a true story and hits theaters and Video on Demand November 4th.
Stagecoach joins Trace’s ever-growing acting resume. Right now, the singer has four movies coming out or already out and one in pre-production as we speak. There’s the above-mentioned Stagecoach. Then there’s the western Traded (trailer), in which he plays Ty Stover and stars alongside Kris Kristofferson and Tom Sizemore. You can rent Traded on most of the online movie players including Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, etc.
Then there’s Deepwater Horizon, the movie about the 2010 offshore drilling rig explosion off the coast of Louisiana (trailer here). Oddly enough, this movie doesn’t appear in Trace’s IMDB and he isn’t listed among the cast on the movie’s own page, so I’m not sure if they have cut his scene from the film or his part is just small enough that it’s not credited in the movie. In any case, he told Radio.com a while back about how fun it was getting to throw the movie’s star, Mark Wahlberg, around a bit.
“They called me to come do this movie,” he says. “I was up in the Northwest, we were on tour somewhere, and my agent called. She’s like, ‘There’s a little part in this movie that they want you to come and do. It would just require you to be there for one day. You can fly to New Orleans and do it for one day.’”
“So I said, ‘I really don’t want to fly down to New Orleans to do just one scene in a movie.’ So she says, ‘Well, you get to throw a guy around the lobby of a hotel.’ I said, ‘That sounds like fun, but still…’ And she says, ‘It’s [Mark] Wahlberg that you throw around.’”
“‘OK, I’ll go.’”
Deepwater Horizon hits theaters September 30, 2016.
The next is a movie called Don’t Let Me Go (or maybe The Between, it’s kind of confusing). In the supernatural thriller, Trace plays Driver. Not sure if that means he’s going to be driving a vehicle or his name is actually Driver. The movie is supposed to be out in theaters sometime in October, but the trailer looks terrible so I don’t know. It appears the movie was actually made back in 2012/2013 (the trailer is from 2013) and was called The Between before. I thought maybe this new movie was a remake of the older one, but after looking around a bit it really does look like they just renamed the movie and delayed it until this year, which doesn’t really bode well for the film.
And in current pre-production is a movie called Roadrunner, which IMDB says is an action comedy about racing. So far Trace is the only cast member listed, so things could definitely change in the future.
Whew. Trace is really a man about Hollywood these days. Will you be watching any of his new movies?
