It may be summer, it may be blazingly hot outside, but in the country music genre, it is like Christmas morning. “Why?” you may ask. Sister C has released its Demo Sessions, Vol. 2 EP, which means six new tracks for those of us who cannot get enough of the Manchaca trio. Once again, Carli, Celbi, and Cirby blend their voices to give us some of the most beautiful music in circulation, also continuing to prove that they are a songwriting force in the industry with which to be reckoned.
As to be expected from Sister C, no two tracks sound alike, giving the group’s fans a diverse collection of tunes that appeal to anybody who hits play on the project. From the more sentimental “Take Me Home” to the quirky, tongue-in-cheek “Willie Nelson & My Dog” (and everything in between), the Manchacas ensure that Demo Sessions, Vol. 2 is a well-rounded, comprehensive example of their hard work and natural talent.
“We are so excited to be releasing Demo Sessions, Vol. 2! We have been writing like crazy and this EP is a combination of all of our favorites,” said Sister C. “Each of us has experienced love lost so of course we wrote about it and so much more. We hope that people can relate to our music the way that it touches us. We can’t wait to hear what people think!”
And, not only does the disc contain the innermost workings of Sister C, but its credits resemble a “who’s who?” in country music. The album was produced by Simon Reid and includes Mark Bright (Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Martina McBride), Lizzy McAvoy (Jo Dee Messina, Thompson Square) and Tiffany Goss (Clay Walker) as writers.
