I do not feel that Kacey Musgraves‘ collaboration with R&B singer Miguel got near enough hype. The song was an easy departure for Musgraves’ smooth vocals, but it somehow added just enough country flair to the soulful track.
Lyrically, Kacey even somehow made some of the more “risque” lyrics come off more gentle. So, while the country music world hasn’t blown this song up the way I would’ve imagined, it has got Kacey’s name on some big Spotify playlists. Including YouTube sensation Shannon Beveridge, who has amassed a strong following that appreciates her musical tastes.
So in other words…props to Kacey.
