Body of Craig Morgan’s son recovered from Tennessee lake

Jerry Greer

After an extensive search that lasted for more than 24 hours, the body of Craig Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer, has now been recovered from Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.

Fox 17 is reporting that about 50 boats joined in the search today after the teen went missing while tubing on the lake yesterday. Authorities say crews used an underwater vehicle to search a stretch of the river where the water is up to 15 feet deep.

This evening, Craig’s record label, Black River Entertainment, put out this release:

It is with deep sadness that I am confirming the passing of Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer. The Humphreys County (TN) Sheriff’s Department recovered his body this evening after a search that began Sunday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. A 2016 graduate of Dickson County High School, Jerry planned to play football for Marshall University in the fall.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of support and requests prayers at this time as they privately mourn this terrible loss. Jerry is survived by parents Craig and Karen Greer, sister Aly Beaird and brother-in-law Ryan Beaird, brother Kyle Greer and fiancé Chelsea Rogers and brother Wyatt Greer.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

My heart truly goes out to Craig and his family. From everything I hear they are amazingly kind and sweet people. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
