Two “Nashville” Cast Members Won’t Be Returning Next Year

Nashville

While Nashville may be returning next season with a new home on CMT, it looks like two series regulars won’t be making the trek to the new network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, we may not be seeing anymore of Luke Wheeler or Layla Grant. The actors behind the characters, Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples, are most likely departing the show, while the rest of the cast is currently believed to be returning.

This news isn’t too surprising to fans of the show, as neither of the characters have integral roles in the clearly endgame relationships of Deacon and Rayna, Gunnar and Scarlett and Avery and Juliette.

Updated: While Will Chase may not be returning to Nashville the actor-singer has already landed another role…on Broadway! According to Broadway.com, Chase will take over the role of William Shakespeare in Something Rotten! He played the role in the first reading of the play before heading to the ABC brama, but will now be replacing Christian Borle at New York City’s St. James Theatre.
