This news isn’t too surprising to fans of the show, as neither of the characters have integral roles in the clearly endgame relationships of Deacon and Rayna, Gunnar and Scarlett and Avery and Juliette.

According to Broadway.com, Chase will take over the role of William Shakespeare in Something Rotten! He played the role in the first reading of the play before heading to the ABC brama, but will now be replacing Christian Borle at New York City’s St. James Theatre.
