CMA Fest 2016 will officially close its curtains tonight, but the memories made will last a lifetime. NashvilleGab proudly partnered with AT&T for CMA Fest and we were honored and privileged to spend time covering the incredible lineup of artists at the Chevy Cruze Park Stage at Walk Of Fame Park. Aside from the brilliant talent we saw throughout the four days on the hopping new stage, we saw something that touched us last year and continued into this year’s festival – artists supporting one another.
Brandon and Jamelle Fraley of Two Story Road came to see the talent at the Chevy Cruze Park Stage a couple of times, but they bee-lined to the park to check out Lauren Alaina‘s and Mickey Guyton‘s much anticipated events. Guyton also drew a couple of other artists out to her show, including No. 1 singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini and the “redic” Haley Georgia. In speaking to Ballerini, she explained her plan for the day was to go “fan girling” and watch sets around town. And, trust us, she did just that.

After Guyton’s phenomenal set, we made our way over to the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage to watch Cam perform before our AT&T interview with Margo Price. We were not the only ones who took that same trip. Two Story Road and Ballerini had the exact same agenda in mind and headed to the blazing hot stage to see the GRAMMY nominee. We assure you that these artists enjoyed every moment of the show and would echo the sentiment that it was worth every degree of heat and drop of sweat.

While CMA Fest days turn to nights, Nissan Stadium is the most popular event in town, but there are also several other shows fans can attend. This weekend’s nighttime entertainment included Cassadee Pope‘s Summer EP released party at the Basement East. While Pope was blowing the roof off the venue with her stunning vocals, longtime friend and fellow female powerhouse, Brooke Eden, stood among fans to show her support. Last year Pope was spotted at Eden’s outdoor show, watching her friend in the rain, and it warmed our hearts to see these two kind, talented, and beautiful friends making time during a very hectic week to be there for one another.
Another South Florida girl, Emily Brooke (American Idol), was an absolute class act during a showcase at Nashville’s Rocketown, which also included The Voice Team Blake member Mary Sarah. Show closer Brooke found a seat in the audience, watched, sang, and danced along to every other artist during the four-hour event.
We heard it many times over the weekend while interviewing artists for AT&T that country music fans are the most loyal. Our theory on that, especially seeing the outpouring of support this weekend, is that the artists are setting wonderful examples for fans and encouraging the loyalty and love that is so prevalent in the genre. Thank you to the artists and fans for making country music so unbelievably special and reminding us with your selflessness how very lucky we are to be a part of it.
