Great news for those of you who have wondered just how Scotty McCreery got his signature deep voice, the singer has now revealed the Elvis-inspired his secret.

Scotty made a stop at Mall of America last Friday to promote his book,  ‘Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream.’ While there, the singer chatted with Mall of America kid reporter Ryan and gave the teen (preteen?) some tips on how to obtain his signature sound.

“Just start singin’ some Elvis. That helped me out,” Scotty explained. “Start singin’ some Elvis and you’ll be good.”

The interaction is pretty cute. Check it out.

Scotty has two more stops before wrapping his book tour. If you live in North Carolina, you can catch the singer today at Costco in Greensboro, NC from 9:30-11:30am ET and from 2:30-5:00pm ET at the First Baptist Church of Garner in Garner, NC.
