Carrie Underwood Dedicates ACC Award to Young Fan who was Tragically Killed

While accepting her American Country Countdown Award for Female Vocalist of the Year, Carrie Underwood thanked her fans and dedicated the award to one young fan in particular. Underwood choked up before dedicating the award to Isley Thibodeaux.

“Isley Thibodeaux, this is for you,” Carrie declared, raising her trophy.

The 10-year-old was tragically killed last weekend after her car was struck by a drunk driver on the way home from Underwood’s concert in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Isley’s family during this difficult time.

That was such a sweet gesture from Carrie. She has such a kind, loving, giving heart. So wonderful to witness this. So happy Carrie finally won the award for female artist which was awarded for sales, radio play and EARNED by the artist. WME had nothing to do with these awards and could not control who gets them. FINALLY!!!!! Finally the female artist award goes to the right artist and NOT the runner up as it has seems to be the case at the ACM/CMA awards. The politics that controls those 2 awards is disgusting.

Carrie has the voice of our generation.
She has been the best female Country vocalist for 8 years now, but, she is now too far into the Pop/Country mold and the elders who run awards do not want her to win anymore. It was fine in the beginning, but, now you are right …it seems to go to the second best female singer.. I hope it doesn’t bug Carrie too much but it has to a little bit…

Eddie Montgomery’s son passes away

Well shoot. For the second time this year I’ve received a press release about a country singer’s child passing away. This should never happen to a parent (never, never, never), so my heart truly goes out to Eddie Montgomery (Montgomery Gentry) on the passing of his son Hunter.
