Pop Goes the Band Perry

Just months after their official split with Big Machine Label Group, The Band Perry have signed a new record deal. Per Billboard, the singing siblings are the newest members of the musical family at Interscope Records.

In what should come as no surprise to anyone who has heard any of their recent songs, they are said to be “transitioning to pop.” They’ll apparently attempt to leave one foot in country by releasing select singles with UMG Nashville, but we have to admit, we don’t have high hopes.

Only time will tell if this genre-switch will have them following in Taylor Swift’s highly successful country-to-pop footsteps or if they’ll flop harder than Jessica Simpson’s pop-to-country attempt.
