In the latest installment of “Alisan Porter is one of the greatest vocalists of all time,” The Voice‘s powerhouse covered The Eagles‘ classic “Desperado.” A dangerous choice, perhaps, considering the bar was set so high in its origin, as well as the many performances that have followed; but for a singer like Porter, no song is out of reach.
As can be expected, Porter’s performance created another buzz that could be heard around the world when she not only beautifully covered the song, but made people forget the plethora of other covers that preceded hers. Once again, Porter not only sang the lyrics to a song, but she poured every fiber of her being into the delivery, making it impossible to tear your eyes away from the television screen.
Based on tonight’s stellar showing, Porter should be an absolute shoo-in to make it to next week’s finale … and potentially win the whole thing.
