Willie-Nelson-and-Merle-Haggard

Willie Nelson‘s SiriusXM channel, Willie’s Roadhouse, will be honoring Merle Haggard throughout the weekend. The station will be renamed Merle’s Roadhouse over the next few days to pay tribute to the country legend who passed away earlier this week, on his seventy-ninth birthday.

Merle’s Roadhouse will go live tonight, Friday, at 6:00pm ET, featuring an encore broadcast of the Django & Jimmie album special that was hosted by Nelson and Haggard. The station will also play a two-hour special, Feeling Haggard, hosted by Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson, as well as an hour-long interview with Haggard from the 2003 show, Bill Anderson Visits with the Legends.

Following Haggard’s death, Nelson went on the record stating that The Hag “was my brother, my friend. I will miss him.”
