Thomas Rhett has become a bonafide hit-maker over the last few years, and we can’t say that his DNA hasn’t played a slight role in his talent and success. Rhett’s father is Georgia Peach Pickers songwriter, Rhett Akins — one of the most renowned writers in Nashville. When you are born into genetics like those, you are destined for stardom.
In a not-so-common stage-sharing moment over the weekend, Rhett and Akins proved that the family tree is quite plentiful. The two collaborated on performances of the Akins penned “That Ain’t My Truck” (Rhett Akins) and “Boys ‘Round Here” (Blake Shelton). To say that the two men are proud of one another would be an understatement.
