Amory, Mississippi’s Trent Harmon overcame adversity during the final season of American Idol and ultimately won the title at the end of a star-studded finale. Now, with only hours between the life-changing moment and people waking up to face the day, the announcement has come that Harmon is officially signed to Big Machine Label Group and will be making a country record in Nashville.

Though a release date is not set for Harmon’s debut offering, Big Machine’s founder and CEO, Scott Borchetta, is already speaking of his confidence regarding the project. According to Billboard, Borchetta told reporters he envisions Harmon’s debut as “for lack of a better term, that Justin Timberlake country record. Justin ain’t going to make it, so we are.”

Also signing with Big Machine is Idol runner-up, La’Porsha Renae. Renae scored a deal in a partnership with the Borchetta-run label, 19, Universal Music Group, and Motown Records.
