In advance of Sunday night’s telecast of the 51st ACM Awards, Eric Church was surprised with a win for Video of the Year for “Mr. Misunderstood.” Church and his manager/ video co-director, John Peets, were presented with the award this afternoon in Las Vegas.

“It’s the cheapest video that’s ever won Video of the Year, I’ll tell you that. It’s just us,” laughed Church.

“It’s unbelievable. I can’t believe it at all. It’s crazy. He did this record. We did it all kind of secret and decided to make our video really quick,” Peets said.

In addition to Video of the Year, Church is also nominated for ACM Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Album and Vocal Event.

Other early winners Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton and Old Dominion were announced last week for the Best New Male, Female and Group categories.
