Get to Know Florida Country Boy Skyler Clark

Sunshine State native and University of South Florida student, Skyler Clark, will be among the performers at the You Must Love Dogs Fest in Tampa, Florida on March 19th. Skyler will join country music superstar Jo Dee Messina and rising star Jessica Lynn on the bill, as the three performers turn the event into a full-fledged party.

Skyler grew up on the country greats, riding around town in his grandmother’s car and listening to icons, such as Hank Williams, Sr. At the age of seven, he began to learn guitar, but, like many Florida kids, sports soon became the epicenter of his universe, and he traded in his cowboy boots for football cleats.

However, when the time came and Skyler had to choose his ultimate path, he forewent football and decided it was time to pursue the music he benched years earlier. He started with his hometown and played local shows, eventually growing his fan base enough to get him coverage on radio stations. From there, Skyler Clark went from a solo acoustic act to the Skyler Clark Band, adding three others to the mix and creating a bonafide, competitive country act.

Mostly playing around Florida, the band has opened for acts such as Craig Campbell, Chase Bryant, Blackjack Billy, and Barrett Baber. The group’s set includes original songs that can be found on the Skyler Clark Band’s debut EP, Tear It Up, and we can’t wait to see them perform these tunes LIVE on March 19th!
