Joey Feek Passes Away After Battle with Cervical Cancer

There are posts you never want to write. This is one of them. It’s with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we report that after months of fighting, Joey Martin Feek has lost her battle with stage 4 cervical cancer. The female half of country duo Joey & Rory was only 40 years old, and leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter, Indiana.

For months, the singer has courageously battled the illness, her moments  chronicled by husband Rory Feek. Just as in life, today, Feek shared the heartbreaking news of his wife’s passing.

The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry.  Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior. At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last.  And a moment later took her first breath on the other side. As I held her hand and kissed her goodbye one last time… I was reminded of another dream of hers that came true.

Today, our hearts are heavy, but also thankful for the life of Joey Feek. Not only did she bless us with her incredible talent, but she blessed us with a spirit, a love and a faith that was admirable up until the last day of her life. She was an inspiration in the darkest of times, a beacon of joy in the face of adversity. For that, we are endlessly thankful.

Thank you Joey Feek, may you rest in peace.
