An update to the Kacey Musgraves getting her car broken into story: The person who did it got busted. And rightfully so!
According to WKRN:
A man was arrested for stealing boots from Kacey Musgraves car after he attempted to return them to the store she purchased them from.
According to an affidavit, 30-year-old Darnell Cunningham tried to return the stolen boots with the receipt to Lucchese Boots on 12th Avenue South Tuesday.
Police reported the store manager recognized the boots as the pair he sold to Musgraves and noticed the receipt had the Grammy winner’s name on it.
When the manager questioned Cunningham about the boots, he reportedly grabbed the boots and fled from the store.
The boots and receipts were stolen from Musgraves’ car Monday night as her vehicle was parked outside 3rd & Lindsley.
Damage to Musgraves’ window and window motor is estimated to be around $1,400.
Cunningham was booked into the Metro jail Wednesday afternoon and charged with theft of property. His bond was set at $25,000.
