Cassadee Pope Makes the Best of Being Stuck on Pennsylvania Turnpike

Cassadee Pope has begun her tour with duet partner Chris Young, and while the two knew the I’m Comin’ Over Tour would be filled with fun and surprises, it is doubtful they expected this end to their first week.

While in Pennsylvania, Chris Young was forced to reschedule the Philadelphia date due to Winter Storm Jonas, the snowstorm that has pummeled across the eastern part of the United States. Hoping to escape the anticipated twelve to eighteen inches of snow that Philly is awaiting, Chris and Cassadee rolled their tour buses out toward Pittsburgh, expecting to beat the blizzard to Steel City. Before they left, the two artists performed a quick acoustic set for a few fans who braved the weather and waited in line to see them.

Unfortunately, as Cassadee’s bus was traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the road was shut down, stranding her, her band, her tour manager, and many other vehicles. Rather than simply worrying about themselves and their situation, Cassadee and her phenomenal and kindhearted band and tour manager (Pat McCarty, Tom Whall, Benji Harris, Derek Bahr, Austin Brucker, and tour manager Don Muzquiz) decided to make hot tea and hand deliver the tea and their camp’s remaining tour bus snacks to as many cars as they can while everybody attempts to wait out the storm.

This is just one more way Cassadee Pope has proven to be that hero she sings of so proudly in her single “I Am Invincible“. Let’s send some tweets to Cassadee and her band and thank them for their beautiful example of humanity and camaraderie.

Stay safe and warm out there, Team Cassadee. We are proud to call you friends and members of the country music family, and we will make sure to “think of you” as you wait for the storm to pass.
